1939 - Vicente Ângelo Gomes da Silva (1881-1954) donated to his children Vicente Bettencourt Gomes da Silva (1902-1960), Jorge Bettencourt Gomes da Silva (1913-2008), Maria José Bettencourt Gomes da Silva (1904-2000) and son-in-law Mário Humberto Camacho Galvão, an urban building already built on a strip of land in his garden, with gates 15, 17 and 19, on Avenida Zarco, Sé, Funchal.In the Diário de Notícias of May 10, 1939, p. 5, you can read the following news item, with the headline Modern building: "The work on the magnificent building commissioned by Vicente Bettencourt Gomes da Silva e irmãos ... has already been completed. Due to its architectural lines, excellent construction and privileged location, the new building is one of the sumptuous buildings of modern Funchal, with spacious interiors, lit according to the most perfected processes. Its owners are to be commended for having contributed to the beautification of Funchal with this splendid building."
1940 - The building was registered at the Funchal Land Registry Office, with the topographical order number 828, in 1940, with the following description: "An urban building with 3 floors, modern and good construction, covered by a reinforced concrete terrace, with 2 stores on the ground floor, 1 room on the 1st floor and 1 on the 2nd; facing north and west with Vicente Ângelo Gomes da Silva, south with the Post Office Building, east with Avenida, with a covered area of 150 m2". (Funchal Land Registry Office - 1st Ref 604 - Freg. Sé. Urban article: 828 - year of inscription: 1940).In that year, part of the building was rented to the Funchal Pigeon Center, more precisely the space around the terrace, where several dovecotes were placed.

From 1948 to 1958 - Between 1948 and 1958 this building was occupied by the Brazilian Consulate. Dr. José Maria Reis Perdigão, the Brazilian consul, and his wife, Esperanza Aguirre Santa Cruz, disembarked at the quayside in Funchal on April 24, 1948. They occupied the first and second floors of the building, each with a single room. The second floor was used for customer service and the second floor was reserved for meeting rooms.The store on the first floor, with door no. 17, was rented out to sell women's clothing from the famous Regina brand, with a store of the same name.
1960s to 2002 - Floors one and two of the building were rented out to Paiva & Sousa Lda, an embroidery manufacturer. The second floor housed the sales room for embroidery and regional artifacts, while the second floor housed the factory where all the industrial production was carried out to produce and market Madeira embroidery, under the name of Porta Casa Regional. It should be noted that it was one of the first embroidery houses in Funchal to offer dresses and other women's garments adorned with Madeira embroidery. This firm, with embroidery stamp registration number 053 from the Funchal Embroidery Institute, ceased its commercial and industrial activities around 2002.
From 1936 to 2017 - For 81 years, the owners of this building were Vicente Bettencourt Gomes da Silva, Jorge Bettencourt Gomes da Silva, Maria José Bettencourt Gomes da Silva, Mário Humberto Camacho Galvão and their heirs. Until this

2017 - On April 17, 2017, this building was acquired by the company PRAZERES OESTE PARADISE, UNIPESSOAL, LDA, according to the acquisition data from the Calheta - Madeira Land Registry Office.
2022 - The building is inaugurated with the internal structural part of the building designed for the construction of studio apartments, and the installation of an elevator to access the three floors. It should be noted that the third floor, previously a terrace, was transformed into a floor with three studio apartments. On the first and second floors, two studio apartments were built each, all with access to the balcony overlooking Avenida Zarco, Funchal. These apartments were built for local accommodation (AL).
